Paul Carter Harrison, African American playwright, was born on March 1, 1936 in New York City, New York to Thelma Inez and Paul Randolph Harrison. In 1957, Harrison earned a B.A. in psychology from Indiana University, and after moving back to New York, earned a M.A. in psychology and phenomenology from the New School for Social Research in 1962.
